STRATASYS TEAMS UP WITH MEDVISO TO ADVANCE THE CREATION OF 3D PRINTED MODELS FOR SURGICAL PLANNING

Cooperation agreement with software provider delivers all-in-one solution to improve surgical planning and shorten lead times when creating 3D printed models from CT scans

Minneapolis & Rehovot, Israel, 4 June, 2018 — Stratasys (Nasdaq: SSYS), a global leader in additive technology solutions, today announced a cooperative agreement with Swedish medical image analysis software provider, Medviso, which will offer hospital 3D print labs a complete solution to improve surgical planning and shorten lead times when creating 3D printed models from CT scans.

Combining a Stratasys high-precision Objet30 Prime PolyJet 3D Printer with Medviso’s clinical segment CT software, the Hospital AM Solution Package is designed to deliver higher accuracy, more flexibility, improved diagnostic visibility and better patient outcomes.

Through the combination of software and hardware, the all-in-one, easy-to-use in-house solution enables the creation of 3D-printable files without the need for comprehensive training, optimizing the supply chain in-house.

“The immense benefits of using 3D printed models for surgical planning continue to be recognized by medical practitioners seeking to advance in-house surgical planning processes,” says Helen Fransson, CEO Medviso. “The synergy of our easy-to-use Medviso software, together with high-precision 3D printing hardware from Stratasys, provides hospitals with a faster, simpler and highly accurate solution to achieve this key objective.”

Rene Martin, Head of Sales Healthcare, EMEA, Stratasys, comments, “Our partnership with Medviso is indicative of the way in which Stratasys is actively responding to the needs of hospitals and medical institutions. Be it for surgical pre-planning or other processes and applications within the medical sector, the integration of 3D printing technology continues to deliver significant efficiencies while also advancing procedures and improving patient outcomes.”

The Stratasys/Medviso solution will be available through authorized resellers in EMEA.
