Hudson Printing is Home to a New Landa S10P Printing Press

Salt Lake City installation now in progress

Salt Lake City, USA and Rehovot, Israel – November 2, 2021 – Hudson Printing of Salt Lake City, the high-quality commercial printing operation known for superior color reproduction, is now home to a new Landa S10P Nanographic Printing® Press. Installation is in progress.

“Quality is paramount around here,” CEO Paul Hudson says. “Our customers will not compromise on color – it’s what we’re known for.”

The Landa S10P’s unique, expanded color gamut; better economics; and higher productivity made Hudson’s decision to choose the S10P press a straightforward one. The 7-color Landa S10P will reproduce 96% of Pantone colors.

“The S10P checked all of our boxes,” Paul Hudson says. “We needed the speed, the B1 format, and the best color available. Over time it became clear that Landa’s advantages are better by orders of magnitude.”

While a stable of offset and digital presses will continue to produce Hudson Printing’s general commercial, magazine, catalog, book printing and burgeoning direct mail business materials, Hudson and his team expect to migrate work from both press types to the Landa S10P. “It’s the perfect machine to bridge the space between these two robust workflows,” he says.

As an example, Hudson points to the millions of pieces it enters into the mail stream every month. “We have some large direct mail jobs that can take dozens to even hundreds of hours on digital presses,” he says, “but when you move over to the Landa you not only have a much larger sheet size with B1 (41”); you also have much faster production speeds and coating inline.

“It’s a fantastic productivity tool for direct mail.”

Hudson also expects to open new markets and partnerships given the S10P’s unique features and the increased capacity it will provide to the company. For market segments where color is a priority, such as high-end packaging and industrial print applications, Hudson Printing will be able to bring its in-demand expertise to a wider selection of providers and brands.

Heberto Pachon, general manager of Landa Digital Printing ®, Americas, says, “We are delighted to welcome Hudson Printing to the Landa family. Getting to know Hudson’s team, as well as having a close-up view of one of our industry’s finest printing operations, is a privilege. We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
