Nivalis Technology & Manufacturing Growth Continues with SolarEdge e-Mobility Acquisition

  • Nivalis’ TRU-POWER® to be demonstrated at ACT Expo 2026 (Booth 3009) designed to lower operating costs, reduce charging dependency and support the transition away from diesel-powered refrigeration. Nivalis’ 3rd Generation architecture will also be on display for the first time.

Maryland, USA – 29 April 2026 – Nivalis Energy Systems, North America’s market leading zero-emission electric refrigerated transport company, today announced that it has acquired SolarEdge e-Mobility, one of Europe’s most technologically advanced manufacturer of end-to-end electrified trailers. The newly combined Nivalis entity makes Nivalis Energy Systems the global leader in electrified refrigeration, delivering fleet managers, logistics companies and retailers unrivalled cost savings vs. diesel powered refrigeration.

SolarEdge e-Mobility designs and manufactures electric, renewable-powered systems for refrigeration trailers. With more than 25 years in electrification, SolarEdge e-Mobility developed the system that combines three sources of energy generation – solar, e-axle, and grid charging – ensuring maximum autonomy of the e-trailer. Designed for a wide range of refrigerated transport applications across logistics, retail and pharmaceutical sectors, SolarEdge e-Mobility’s partners and customers include a number of blue-chip organisations across Europe and Oceania.

The acquisition, which closed on February 11, 2026, gives Nivalis access to SolarEdge e-Mobility’s engineering and R&D capabilities – including a new 3rd Generation platform, the world’s first clean energy solution using three electric power sources. The acquisition also enables Nivalis to expand into Europe by leveraging SolarEdge e-Mobility’s established market presence and service network. Additionally, the purchase strengthens Nivalis’s ability to rapidly scale manufacturing to meet growing customer demand across both Europe and North America.

Largescale Market Opportunity

At a time when retail and logistics supply chains face growing pressure to reduce dependence on diesel, refrigerated trailers remain one of the last major operational dependencies on diesel within modern cold-chain transport. Nivalis believes solutions such as TRU-POWER®, especially the 3rd Generation platform, will play an important role in helping fleets transition away from diesel-powered refrigeration in a commercially viable and operationally scalable way.

“Refrigerated transport has remained a major diesel-dependent element of the cold chain, and operators are increasingly realizing that electrified refrigeration is no longer simply a sustainability discussion — it’s become a commercial and operational one,” said Sam Plunkett, CEO of Nivalis Energy Systems.

“Diesel-powered refrigeration systems are expensive to maintain, expensive to operate — and as major retailers and global brands are under growing pressure to reduce supply-chain emissions and improve ESG reporting across logistics operations — increasingly difficult to justify. The challenge is no longer proving electrified refrigeration can work, it’s helping fleets understand how commercially and operationally viable these systems have now become.”

Nivalis Energy Systems TRU-POWER®

Addressing the diesel challenge, visitors to the Nivalis Energy Systems booth (3009) at ACT Expo will be see Nivalis’ commercially available TRU-POWER® solution. This provides electrically powered refrigeration via a battery system – already deployed across North American grocery and logistics operations with deployment beginning in late 2023 – helping fleets reduce operating costs, lower maintenance requirements and transition away from diesel-powered transport refrigeration. The integrated architecture enables refrigerated trailers to operate for extended periods with minimal reliance on grid charging, helping fleets overcome one of the biggest operational barriers associated with electrified refrigerated transport.

Crucially, visitors to the show will also learn how government incentives across parts of North America are currently supporting up to 100% of the cost of electrified refrigeration systems – dramatically reducing the cost and de-risking the transition away from diesel-powered refrigeration across refrigerated transport fleets.

Nivalis Energy Systems New 3rd Generation

Visitors to ACT Expo will also see Nivalis Energy Systems’ new 3rd Generation platform for the first time. In a world’s first, the new 3rd Generation combines battery storage, rooftop solar PV and regenerative e-axle technology to reduce charging dependency, improve operational flexibility and lower overall fleet operating costs. This improves the long-haul commercial viability of electrified refrigerated transport. When commercially available in 2028, fleet operators can typically expect ROI from Nivalis’ 3rd Generation solution within approximately two to three years.

Sam concludes: “We’re excited to close the acquisition with SolarEdge e-Mobility and to showcase the 3rd Generation in North America and Europe. We go to ACT Expo with continued high interest in our TRU-POWER® platform – a solution that’s transforming electric refrigerated logistics in the USA – and we look forward to meeting with fleet operators, media and industry stakeholders to demonstrate the power of both solutions in a real-world operating environment.”
